To kick off the new semester, OpenMedia McGill will be having a movie screening of Rip! A Remix Manifesto. Join us on January 29th at 7pm in an exploration of copyright and content creation in the digital age. Filmmaker Brett Gaylor and mashup artist Girl TalkIn dissect the media landscape of the 21st century and shatter the wall between users and producers. Creative Commons founder, Lawrence Lessig, Brazil’s Minister of Culture, Gilberto Gil, and pop culture critic Cory Doctorow also come along for the ride.
So come and enjoy an entirely FREE OpenMedia McGill film screening and learn about media in the modern age. Refreshments and snacks will be served and a discussion will follow
The movie will be shown in the Lev Bukhman room of SSMU. The even will last from 7-9pm.
