To remind everyone about us and our mission, we just want to say a few introductory remarks:
Here at OpenMedia McGill strives to engage, educate, and empower you as our student body to preserve an open and affordable internet. As a chapter ofwe help raise the profile of pro-Internet issues on campus, and in the wider community, by raising awareness online and off.
We are a group of motivated, freethinking people emphasizing progress and change in the current social order. We believe that an open media is ultimately central to the maintenance of a healthy democracy, and we will not stop fighting until this has been guaranteed.
We want empower people to participate in the media governance debate and help make their voices heard. We will fight to keep all forms of media accessible, free, and fair.
This blog is a chance for you guys as our wider audience to engage with us in this mission. We want to hear what you have to say! If you are a McGill student and our passions resonate with yours this is the place to make your voice and opinion heard.
We encourage you to visit to our Facebook, Instagram and Tumblr pages, as well as having a tour of our website and previous blog posts to get those creative juices flowing.
